by Richard F. Grein, retired Bishop of New York.
Monograph Series #3, 1991
. 10 page pdf.

This essay, which outlines Grein’s vision of the role of a renewed diaconate in the modern church, was presented at the annual meeting of the Anglican Society held at The General Theological Seminary in 1990. Reprinted from The Anglican, quarterly gazette of the Anglican Society.  He refers to the role of deacons as both “angels” and boundary dwellers who filter needed information from the world to the church and bring the church’s gospel to the world.
