strengthening diaconal ministry

AED provides resources, materials and connections at no cost, plus events and continuing education at low or no cost. This is possible because of our individual & diocesan members. Membership is open to anyone, lay or ordained, any denomination, who is interested in strengthening diaconal ministry. 

As a Member you'll:
  • ​Receive our Diakoneo magazine 4 times per year
  • Enjoy a discounted (or free) rate for AED events, including the Archdeacon and Deacon Directors Conference (A3D), and Life & Work of Deacons
  • Enjoy a discounted rate for CALL (Center for Anglican Learning and Leadership) courses and other resources and courses
  • Support the ministry of deacons in the US, Canada and around the world
  • Enable the sharing of diaconal resources
  • Receive our monthly email Deacon Update

In addition to the benefits of membership, AED also:​
  • Facilitates communications among deacons and all ministers
  • Provides online platforms for deacons to share information
  • Provides leadership and resources for workshops and conferences on the diaconate
  • Represents the diaconal voice in the leadership structures of the Episcopal Church

Individual Membership Levels
Annual membership levels for individuals are structured to fit various budgets:
  • $75 - Sustaining
  • $50 - Regular
  • $30 - Student/limited income
  • $150 - Supporting
  • $250 - Patron
  • $1,000 - Life   (A 24 month payment plan is available online only : a monthly donation of $41.67 per month will be charged to your credit card for 24 months, totaling $1,000.08.)
  • $1,000 - Extended Life - $400 initially, then $300 due at 12 months and 24 months each, totaling $1,000. (This option is not available online. Please use the mail-in form below.)​
NOTE: Canadian Deacons can join AED by purchasing a “Blended Membership” through Anglican Deacons Canada.

Diocesan & Organization Membership Levels
Annual diocesan memberships are based on annual budgets:
  • $100 - Annual budget under $750,000.00
  • $150 - Annual budget between $750,000.00 and $1,500,000.00
  • $200 - Annual budget over $1,500,000.00
  • ​$50 - Organization memberships
