Standing Committees

AED regularly maintains standing committees for on-going work and empowers task forces for time-specific work. Current committees and task forces include:

FINANCE
The main goal of the Finance Committee is to ensure that the organization is in good financial health, that the assets are protected and resources are used appropriately. A key task is to participate in budgeting so as to ensure that the board understands AED's financial condition. An understanding of the financial condition is essential to properly plan AED's operations and make critical policy decisions. The Finance Committee is responsible for assisting the board in understanding its financial position and all external reports.

DEVELOPMENT PLANNING TASK FORCE
AED is a member-funded organization, and has rarely participated in organized fund-raising efforts in the formal sense. We have, however, concrete awareness that the organization has increasing visibility and responsibility for providing advice and assistance on diaconal formation, supervision and best practices. An ad hoc task force is currently evaluating opportunities for assessing development possibilities.
