Engaging the Diakonia of all Believers
A Statement of Theology
Many of us are familiar with the phrase, “the priesthood of all believers,” calling all of us to share Christ’s work of reconciliation. But we probably haven’t heard much about the “diakonia of all believers.” Diakonia is a Greek word which means caring for those in need, carrying out God’s vision in word and action. Download our brochure in English or Spanish.

Affiliated Organization
The Fund for the Diaconate provides financial assistance for Episcopal deacons and those in diaconal formation who have insufficient funds for their needs.

"We used the AED website extensively during our process of developing a diocesan Handbook for Deacons. It gave us access to a wealth of resources ...  and “best practices.”
