By James Lassen-Willems, Monograph Series No. 2,  1989. 8 page pdf.

This essay was a sermon given at the ordination of deacons on February 4, 1989, held at the Cathedral of St. John in Providence, Rhode Island. In this sermon, Canon Lessen-Willens instructed the newly ordained deacons to embrace the servant role in the image of the servant Christ.  He charged them to incorporate the Gospel message in their life, make daily prayer a personal priority, and to connect with their diaconal community.
