How do you envision contributing to the AED Board? What are your special talents and gifts? As the Canon for Spiritual Development in the Diocese of Albany and director of the Deacon Formation program, I have dedicated much of my ministry to supporting clergy, particularly our 30+ active deacons. It has been a joy to develop our new school of formation, which currently includes seven diaconal postulants. I bring extensive experience in program development, event planning, and spiritual formation, and I would be honored to share these gifts with the AED Board to support deacons throughout The Episcopal Church. Furthermore, as the spouse of a deacon, I have a deep personal commitment to supporting those called to diaconal ministry. Question #2 What is your vision for the future of the Association for Episcopal Deacons? While AED and its mission are new to me, I am excited about the potential to work alongside those dedicated to supporting deacons in their ministry to the church and the world. My vision for the future focuses on formation and training; I am interested in exploring how dioceses can collaborate to train future deacons and help current deacons continue to grow in their vocation. I hope to be a voice for diaconal ministry and advocate for its vital and unique place within the church. |
