How do you envision contributing to the AED Board? What are your special talents and gifts? My goal and vision for AED, I would want to continue to spread the good news of our organization to ALL Clergy which means not just Deacons but one order and that's ALL clergy no separation. My skill set is with the military but I think will be helpful with AED. * I have been a Master Resilience Trainer for 10 years * I was an Equal Opportunity Councilor for 24 years * I have been on the Diocese of Georgia southwest discernment committee for 18 years * I am an Air Force Trained Mediator * I am an Air Force trained Suicide/Sexual Assault Instructor Question #2
What is your vision for the future of the Association for Episcopal Deacons? After attending the convention my number one goal is having our order recognized and respected. We belong at the table and should be there whenever there is a Eucharist / morning prayer. I don’t think that we are being heard. People know about the order but do know the role of a Deacon. My goal is to make sure that we are being heard as well as seen…for the next general convention I will try my best to make sure that there is a deacon on the liturgy committee. The other goal is for those churches that have a deacon for their vestry to pay (within their budget) for the subscription for their deacon to be a member of AED. With all my skill’s that I have listed above I feel that I will make a great addition to the AED team. |
