How do you envision contributing to the AED Board? What are your special talents and gifts? I would use my abilities to synthesize information and problem-solve to contribute to strategies to better serve deacons and sustain AED. I believe that deacons should be the prophets of The Episcopal Church (TEC), critical to the lives of parishes and visioning all that TEC can be in the world. I currently serve as the AED board secretary. Question #2 What is your vision for the future of the Association for Episcopal Deacons? I believe that deacons deserve the rights and privileges available to other clergy of TEC, including regular funding in TEC budget for AED and other deacon support, access to the Church Pension Fund, representation in TEC governance and planning; AED can lobby for and offer direct services and support. I also believe AED can and should assist TEC in creating and maintaining better records of deacons throughout the dioceses, and better collaboration between organizations of TEC in support of deacons. |
