2019 Triennial Registration Details

NOTE: Registration has ended.
There might be available spaces if we recieve any cancellations. Please contact Lori Mills-Curran for details re: the waiting list.

Materials for Triennial are available here.

Registration costs have been greatly reduced due to the generous support of many bishops and Episcopal organizations throughout the church who made direct contributions of over $40,000 to keep the registration cost to a minimum.

The full registration fee is $225.  This fee includes:
  • Breakfasts, lunches and dinners (starting with Thursday Dinner/Eucharist through Sunday breakfast), including Friday’s evening’s Banquet. Vegetarian options are available.
  • Wi-Fi access during conference
  • All events: plenary sessions, workshops, and liturgies.
  • Shuttle to Cathedral for Friday afternoon presentation at the Center for Reconciliation.
  • Round trip bus transport to downtown Newport, RI for the Closing Eucharist and evening out.

NEW DAY PASSES are also available for $75 per day, for Friday or Saturday.
  • Friday's Day Pass includes admission to the Bp. Curry keynote, your lunch, workshops and the shuttle to and tour of the Center for Reconciliation. The Friday Day Pass can be combined with a Banquet Guest Ticket, for separate purchase.
  • Saturday's Day Pass includes workshops, your lunch and bus transportation to Newport for the Closing Eucharist and free time excursion.
Please use the registration button, below.

NOT included in the registration fee are:
  • Lodging, at the hotel or an alternative venue.
    • This is a change from last Triennial, in that lodging is now not included within your registration fee.  This was done to facilitate cooperative efforts at lodging at lower rates.  Keep an eye on AED’s Facebook Group page for people coordinating reservations for alternative venues, such as Air BnB. Your meals are included in the registration fee, including breakfasts, even if you stay at an alternative venue.
    • The reduced conference hotel rate at the Renaissance Providence Hotel is $179 per night, per room (which can be shared between persons lodging together in 2 queen beds.) Book rooms using this link.  Booking at the conference rate ended on May 6. Rooms may still be available at normal pricing.
    • The hotel conference rate will be honored for three days before and after the event, if there is availability.  Rhode Island is a vacation destination, so reserve now if you desire additional nights.
  • Costs associated with the Saturday evening out (e.g., restaurant meals, sports, theatre or art gallery tickets, etc.). Dinner is also on your own if you return to the hotel following the Eucharist.
  • No-host beverages purchased at the on-site lounges.
  • Transportation from the airport, bus station, or train station (although the train is close). See the transportation map online.
  • Parking is not included, however $23 per day parking is contracted for hotel guests in our group only, billed to your room. (Commuter parking is $17 per day)

TRIENNIAL REGISTRATION - Closed on 5/28/19
You must complete both parts
  1. Triennial Registration has ended. This page remains live for any needed details.
  2. Lodging Reservation:  Lodging is NOT included in the Triennial cost and must be booked separately. We have a block of rooms available at the Renaissance Providence Hotel.  Booking at the conference rate ended on May 6. Rooms may still be available at normal pricing. If desired, you can look into alternative lodging. See the details above.
Triennial refunds (minus a $75 service fee) will ONLY be available until May 1, 2019

Make a  Contribution to Triennial Scholarship Fund. Help broaden our reach to those with limited financial resources. This option is available during registration.

AED is aware that these costs may be prohibitive for some deacons.
Every effort has been made to keep costs down. Many dioceses offer clergy continuing education funds, for which deacons may apply.  A few dioceses provide scholarships to Triennial; bishops often will provide scholarship funds upon request.  Parishes may also be a source of funds. AED has very limited scholarship funds, but may receive an enthusiastic response for contributions to our Triennial Scholarship Fund. Please contact Lori Mills-Curran (508.873.1881) for updated information.
